Step 1:   Log In

Click the Login link in the sidebar, and log in with your MSU NetID and NetPassword. If you are logging in for the first time, this registers you in our system.

Step 2:   Begin Submission

Once you have logged in, use the Submissions link in the sidebar to create a new submission (or view previous ones).

In the "Select a collection" screen, choose the "New Submissions > Submit Here" collection. Once your item has been accepted, repository staff will add it to the relevant communities and collections. If you have a specific preference, please contact the Repository Admin.

Step 3:   Describe Submission

Provide some basic information about your item, including title, author(s), subject keywords, and so on. The more thorough you can be, the easier it will be for researchers and the general public to find your work.

Step 4:   Upload Files

Choose files from your computer to upload. An item can contain multiple files; for example, when uploading a data set, you can also include a ReadMe file with usage instructions.

Step 5:   Grant License

The last step is to agree to our license. You certify that you hold the rights to the work you're submitting (or have permission from the creator of the work to submit it on their behalf), and grant us the right to distribute and preserve it. You retain all other rights.

Step 6:   Complete Submission

When you click Submit, your submission will be finalized and sent to the repository Admin for approval.

Once your submission has been accepted, you will receive a confirmation email with a permanent link to your item.

You can stop and save your submission at any time - simply return to your Submissions page when you're ready to continue and finalize your submission.

Numerous/Large Files and Entire Collections

If you have a large number of items (or an entire collection) to deposit, if your files are too large to be easily uploaded (over 2gb), or if no collection exists that fits your material, contact the repository admin to make arrangements for deposit.
